The bottom of the water has barely been roughed out.

At this end, the heart of the wood has become completely rotten, so I literally tore it out. Some rot still remains deep within, but I can stop it from spreading by applying a special hardener.
Then I'll simply fill the hole in with another piece of wood. |

Although I knew it was there from the beginning, I pretty much ignored the pervasive creep of the rot, primarily because I have been focusing on the top part of the sculpture, the hand in particular. I do like how this hand appears to slide.
