The Basswood Log. I knew from the beginning that this sculpture would have to be made in two pieces. The "body" is sitting on the bench, and the "arms" are sitting on the floor. I am now working in a (very disorganized) shop. My motorcycle has a proper home.

Painting the general idea on the bark-stripped log. I immediately knew that I would not have enough room to make a crown with equal-length sides (my original plan).
